Company-specific checklist
Someone pitched me Primerica. What should I ask?
If someone invited you to join Primerica, separate the recruiting conversation from licensing requirements, costs, and representative earnings information.
Short answer: Before paying to start with Primerica, ask what licenses are required, what costs are common, and what the earnings statement shows for comparable representatives.
Do this first:
- Do not pay during the first conversation.
- Ask for the documents listed below.
- Use a script if you need more time.
Documents to request before paying
- The current earnings statement.
- A written list of licensing, exam, background check, technology, marketing, travel, and recurring costs.
- The independent contractor terms and product lines that require licenses.
- The cancellation or refund rules for any fee, tool, or subscription.
Questions to ask in writing
- What percentage of new recruits become licensed and receive commissions within 12 months?
- Does the earnings statement describe life-licensed representatives, new recruits, or both?
- What happens if I pay to start but do not pass licensing requirements?
- Will I be expected to recruit friends or family before I have product-sale income?
What this does not prove
Being invited to join Primerica does not prove anything about an individual representative. It is a reason to understand licensing, expenses, and participant-level outcomes before paying.
